Hotraco as an innovative employer...

Jeroen Wielens has been working as a Software Engineer at Hotraco for 3.5 years now and experiences the space to be innovative on a daily basis. “At Hotraco, from the start of our project, the iHotraco Cloud platform, we were given the freedom to develop our own ideas and solutions,” Jeroen says. The platform gives farmers worldwide access to vital data, from climate and feed information to mortality data, that allows them to monitor and adjust their processes remotely. “In this sector, which is traditionally conservative, such a digital solution is really innovative. Farmers can now manage their barns via their phones, wherever they are.”

Jeroen emphasizes that innovation at Hotraco is not only about technology, but also about collaboration. “We work closely with our customers and take their feedback seriously,” he explains. Because of these short lines between product development and customer needs, Hotraco creates solutions that connect to real-world situations, adding value and commitment to the process. “It's great to see customers get excited and even colleagues who were skeptical at first now see the value and potential of our work.”

Hotraco as an engaged employer...

Laura Meijers has now been working as a commercial administrative service representative at Hotraco for 5.5 years and feels right at home here. “It feels like a warm welcome,” she says of her workplace. “I work with a nice team where everyone pulls together. It is sometimes a challenge to get everything right for our service technicians at home and abroad, from the right papers to tight schedules, but we always tackle it together.”

At Hotraco, it's about more than just work. “Hotraco has always supported me, both at work and privately. When I needed it, Hotraco was there for me and there was room to think about myself first, then work. I really appreciate that people-oriented attitude.”

Hotraco shows time and again that their commitment goes beyond professionalism - they support their people when they need it most. For Laura, that makes Hotraco an employer you can really build on.

Hotraco as a professional employer...

Luuk Hanssen was approached by Hotraco in 2001 for an internship during his MBO education. After several internships at the company, he was soon offered a contract and decided to take up the challenge at Hotraco. “I started as a Hardware Engineer, first rotating in production for a few months to gain experience, gaining more and more responsibility. In 2009 I made the switch to Sales Engineering, where I discovered the technical side of sales.”

After a few years in sales, Luuk returned to hardware engineering when a knowledge gap arose: “When I returned, I got the chance to take on more responsibility and take the quality of the department to the next level. Two years ago I officially became an executive,” Luuk says. For him, his career at Hotraco is proof of the many opportunities for advancement within the company: “Whether you start in panel construction or as an engineer, there are always options to grow and explore new directions.”

For Luuk, the core value of professionalism revolves around how colleagues act toward each other. “We see our sales colleagues as internal customers. When they ask us something, about knowledge or deliverability for example, it is our responsibility to give professional and substantiated advice. Even if there are technical problems, we think in terms of solutions, not limitations, because we like to help.” This professional attitude, towards colleagues as well as production and purchasing, is what makes working at Hotraco so valuable to Luuk.

Hotraco as an impactful employer...

Eric Hagens has been with Hotraco for 31 years, starting out as an intern. Over the years, he has seen not only his career grow, but also the positive impact Hotraco makes worldwide. “Hotraco makes me feel every day that I can really make a difference,” Eric told me enthusiastically. “Whether it's projects like central egg collection or our web-based program iHotraco, we help customers optimize their production and ensure more people have access to food.”

Eric emphasizes that Hotraco's impact goes beyond technology: “I get to think about the roadmap for Hotraco's future and our commitment to sustainability. We work on solutions that not only improve in our customers' work, but also contribute to big challenges like food security and energy management.” For Eric, this impact, along with ongoing innovation and collaboration with young colleagues, is what makes each workday valuable. “I go to work with a smile every day: let's go again!”
